Canoeing
The Dumoine River is one of the most beautiful free flowing rivers in the Pontiac region. With its various rapids and its impressive scenery the Dumoine river is very popular for white water canoeing. The Dumoine river is world renowned for its beautiful vistas, exciting rapids and great camp sites.
Here at the Dumoine Valley Guides we can help you get your trip started with our shuttle services. Tell us at what point on the river you would like to start your trip and we will bring you and your gear to where the adventure begins.
Leave your vehicle with us or have us deliver it to where the river ends.
Our location on the Ottawa River does offer you the option to paddle from the end of the Dumoine River directly to us. We also offer a boat shuttle to simplify your return.

Boat Shuttle Service
The Dumoine Valley Guides is very happy to offer a boat shuttle service, crossing the Ottawa River can be a stressful experience and sometime during high winds it can be dangerous. Take the stress away, let us pick you up and safely bring you and your group back to your vehicle. With this service you can leave your vehicles at our lodge (free parking) and you get to enjoy a short relaxing trip on the Ottawa River at the end of your canoe experience.
In the event that a mechanical failure prevents us from providing a shuttle, we will make efforts to arrange another shuttle. However we cannot guarantee availability or cost of the replacement shuttle.
Shuttle cost: $100 from the mouth of the Dumoine, $175 from Ryan Chute. The cost is per trip with a maximum of 6 person (3 canoes) per trip. Discounts available for larger groups with multiple trips.
Discounted Lodging
Looking for a place to stay before or after your adventure? Looking for a place to stay before your adventure? We are proud to now offer a one night stay in one of our high quality cottages at a discounted price (subject to availability).
Canoe Rental
Does your group require a canoe to take down on the Dumoine? We can offer quality white water canoes to take down river. The canoes are provided by The Friends of the Dumoine, a not for profit organisation that coordinates and funds volunteers efforts to maintain and improve non-mechanized access to the Dumoine watershed.

Notes
Customers must register at the Rapides des Joachims ZEC office to help emergency services in the event of an accident or missing person.
The length of shuttle ranges from 3 to 5 hours depending on road conditions and the drop-off location.
Once you have been shuttled to your starting point the customer is fully responsible in the event of an accident and we encourage that each group gets a method of contacting emergency services (satellite phone or emergency GPS device).
Customers are responsible for bringing all the gear and food required for the trip.
Remember to get a fishing permit and a ZEC fishing pass if you intend to fish while on the river.
